About Us

Lisa Vandenburgh

More than 25 years ago, Lisa opened her own tiny interior design firm with saved money, rented desks and a single telephone line in Boston’s Back Bay. Today, more than 150 homes later, she operates Lisa Vandenburgh Ltd. in the heart of Georgetown, where she and her staff help bring client’s visions to life. Lisa brings the same zest and entrepreneurial spirit to Beyond the Box, personally offering her expertise to each client’s unique needs. See more of Lisa’s work at www.LisaVandenburgh.com.

IMG_6441Suzanne Windle

With one visionary eye on creating your colorful, vibrant new living and working space, Suzanne, a former federal government trial attorney, former Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary for policy at the U.S. Department of Labor, and part-time yoga instructor,  keeps her lawyer’s eye on the details of your move, including your budget. After practicing law for nearly a dozen years, she turned to her creative side, founding her own decorating and design related business, Windle&Goodman LLC. In keeping with DC’s penchant for acronyms, Suzanne currently serves as Beyond the Box’s CEO and SMM (Senior Move Management) Coordinator. Visit her work at www.windlegoodman.com.

Elizabeth McNamara

Elizabeth truly is a Renaissance woman, combining her creative flare with unparallel business acumen. An actor by degree and trade, she doesn’t so much “manage” your move as direct, produce, orchestrate, and beautifully stage it. Elizabeth has overseen projects for and had a managerial role in a myriad of companies including two of Washington’s top interior designers, a modern dance company, one of DC’s finest restaurants, and a decorative painting company. As one of  Beyond the Box’s  project manager, we know you’ll appreciate her penchant for meticulous detail and warm, relaxed management style.

Sandy Spigler

A developmental education specialist for 30 years, Sandy understands our different learning styles and methods of managing daily life. Her current specialty is developing successful strategies to help young families, teens and seniors get and stay organized. She customizes everything from work stations to kitchen prep areas to garage storage systems, enabling clients to enjoy a calmer daily routine. The result: you feel prepared instead of overwhelmed. Sandy is a founder of Simply Easy, LLC, one of DC’s premiere professional organizing firms, bringing their renowned level of personalized service to Beyond the Box clients.

Zabella Ghazarian

Soon to graduate from GW’s Interior Architecture and Design Program, has long designed and created culinary delights. An experienced cook, she naturally excels at organizing kitchens from a chef’s point of view, thinking about how each prep and storage space can best be used by clients with differing priorities.  Of Armenian decent, Zabelle is keenly aware of every family’s cultural identity. She brings inspirational historical, artistic and culinary elements to each living space she helps to design, making each one unique and “just what the client ordered.”  We can’t wait to see (and eat in!) the restaurants Zabelle hopes to design in the coming years.

Eliza Lavine

Eliza Lavine is one of the most organized people you’ll ever meet. She came to Beyond the Box as a Junior in GW’s interior architecture and design program. Now a senior, she’s practicing her goal of running her own residential design firm in her role of project manager, working directly with clients as they downsize, creating inventories of items going to a myriad of locations including auction, consignment, donation and extended family members. Eliza, also a tech wiz, turns around CAD designs in short order so you can visualize what your new living space, complete with your own furniture and art, will look like post move.

Isabella SalinasFrom the moment she could walk, Beyond the Box intern, GW interior architecture Junior, and future architectural firm principal, Isabella Salinas has traversed the worlds of the visual and performing arts and design. She first danced on stage when she was three. A 360 degree artist, Isabella also paints, draws, and sculpts. She is often the inspiration behind our Instagram postings. As practical as she is artistic, Isabella works as a freelance graphic designer and photographer. You may have seen her work in the logo for a favorite charity, Dancers Give Back.
